The assembly includes the connecting rod, hood latch mechanisms, springs, associated hardware and the separate manual hood release handle used with this configuration.
This style of manual hood latching system was used on pre-1979 Full-Size Jeep applications, including Wagoneer, Cherokee and J-Series trucks. The separate release handle operates the hood latch mechanism from the front of the vehicle and distinguishes this assembly from other FSJ hood latch configurations used with different grille and front-end combinations.
